We are beyond thrilled to announce that the Allen Park High School and Middle School Choirs have been selected to perform the National Anthem at Comerica Park for the Detroit Tigers vs. San Diego Padres game on April 22, 2025!

This incredible opportunity is not given to just any group. To be selected for this honor, we had to submit an audition to the media team of the Detroit Tigers. Our submission featured the Spring 2024 concert recording, showcasing the dedication and talent of our students. The fact that we were chosen speaks volumes about the hard work and musical excellence of our program. This is a moment to be proud of—our students will have the chance to perform in front of thousands of fans in one of the most iconic stadiums in Major League Baseball!

Key Event Details:
  • Date: Tuesday, April 22, 2025
  • Location: Comerica Park, Detroit, MI
  • Game Start: 6:40 PM
  • National Anthem Performance: 6:27 PM

Schedule:
  • 4:15 PM – Arrive at Allen Park High School, Door 42
  • 4:25 PM – Load Bus
  • 4:30 PM – Depart from High School
  • 5:15 PM – Arrive at Comerica Park
  • 5:30 PM – Performers and Staff Enter Stadium Together
  • 5:40-6:20 PM – Warm-up Time
  • 6:27 PM – National Anthem Performance
  • 10:00 PM – Game Ends / Load Bus
  • 10:30 PM – Arrive Back at Allen Park High School

Performer Registration:
All middle school students, high school students, and alumni who plan to perform must register as a performer. This is separate from purchasing a ticket. Registration is necessary for the following reasons:
  • It allows us to create a roster of performers for spacing and visual considerations.
  • It includes a T-shirt order form for all performers to ensure a professional, uniform appearance.
  • Parents of middle school students must register their child and provide their T-shirt size (both youth and adult sizes are available).
Please read carefully and complete the performer registration form to confirm participation.

Alumni Participation:
We are excited to welcome back our Allen Park Choir alumni to join us for this special performance! If you wish to perform the National Anthem alongside our current students, you must register as a performer. This registration is separate from purchasing a ticket and is essential for planning performer spacing and ensuring a unified presentation.

Performer Attire:
  • Event T-shirt (Cost: $15-$25; order form in performer registration)
  • Light blue jeans (no holes preferred)
  • White athletic or casual shoes
  • T-shirts will be distributed the week before the event.

Tickets & Seating:
​We currently have 200 seats in Section 217 to allocate within our group. To ensure a smooth experience, we are offering two seating options:
  • Reserved Seating: If a family or group wishes to sit together, they should select this option. This allows us to ensure that their seats are placed together.
  • General Seating: If attendees are flexible with seating arrangements, they can choose this option. This means they may sit anywhere within the designated general seating section.

Please note that this seating distinction is for our group only—it is not a differentiation provided by the Tigers. This approach helps prevent confusion and ensures that families who want to sit together can do so without issue.
  • Cost: $20 per seat (purchase through Allen Park Music Boosters)
  • Deadline: April 8, 2025
Please make sure to purchase the tickets through our music boosters! If you use a third party site, any fees you pay will go to that vendor. By purchasing through our boosters, those fees go to us which help play for pianists, awards, etc.

Rehearsals:
  • Most rehearsals will be during school hours.
  • There will be an evening practice on April 16 in the high school band room or performing arts center.
  • Attendance is expected but may be flexible based on individual circumstances.

Meals & Payment at Comerica Park:
  • Students should bring money for food and souvenirs.
  • Comerica Park is cashless – If students do not have access to a debit/credit card or Apple Pay, they should bring a Visa gift card or cash to use at the cash-to-card machines available at the park. These machines allow cash to be converted into a pre-paid card for purchases inside the stadium.

Transportation & Pickup:
  • Buses will transport performers middle & high school performer to and from Comerica Park. Alumni, please plan to meet us at the stadium.
  • Parents should be available for pick-up at Allen Park High School after the game.
  • The game may end earlier or later than expected—please remain flexible.

Stadium Rules & Security:
  • Bag Policy: Only single-compartment bags, wallets, and clutches smaller than 4" x 6" x 1.5" are allowed.
  • No large bags, backpacks, or purses (exceptions for medical and diaper bags under 16" x 16" x 8").
  • Security Screening: All guests must pass through a walk-through metal detector and empty pockets of metal objects.
  • No knives, weapons, or outside food/drinks.
